The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) on self-injury and impulsive behaviors among 12th-grade male students. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest and control group. The statistical population included all 12th-grade students in Isfahan County. Based on inclusion criteria, 34 students were selected through convenient non-random sampling and were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups (17 participants in each group). Data were collected using the Self-Harm Inventory (SHI) and the Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS-11). The experimental group received 10 weekly DBT sessions (each lasting 60 minutes), while the control group remained on a waiting list. Data were analyzed using univariate and multivariate covariance analysis (ANCOVA and MANCOVA) in SPSS-26 software. The findings revealed that group DBT had a significant effect on reducing self-injury and impulsive behaviors among students (p < .001). The effect sizes for impulsive behaviors and self-injury were .693 and .435, respectively. Based on the results, Dialectical Behavior Therapy can be considered an effective intervention approach for reducing high-risk behaviors among adolescents.
